Vernon Law Pitches Again

After winning the 1960 World Series, Vernon Law found out that he had a torn rotator cuff muscle, caused in part by pitching and in part by his teammates celebrating and knocking him around too much. As a result of this tear (and because the procedures they had in the 60s for repair were rudimentary at best), he scuffled for the next few years, unable to pitch like he had prior to the injury. He tried everything he could think of, until one day he was in Salt Lake and came across Elder Henry D. Moyle. He asked Elder Moyle for a blessing. After the blessing he felt peace with his situation. He went back to his family farm and decided to throw the ball around a little bit. After a few throws, he had the impression to really let loose and throw a pitch as fast as he possibly could. He threw the pitch and heard an audible pop, after which all the pain in his arm was gone. He threw a couple more times and found that his speed and control were both back as well. The next season he pitched nearly as well as he did in his 1960 Cy Young winning season.
